VOTE FOR YOUR JANUARY GOAL OF THE MONTH

Pick your favourite of the Gills four goals scored in January

Fans are now able to vote for their January `Goal of the Month. `


The Gills only played four games during the opening month of 2014 with our New Years’ Day fixture against Stevenage being postponed, but there are still four goals to go over and decide your favourite.

GOAL A – Cody McDonald v Wolves




With the scores at 0-0 going in to the second minute of added time, the striker pounced on a loose ball from a Jake Hessenthaler corner to smash home beyond Aaron McCarey and give the Gills all three points.

GOAL B – Leon Legge v Swindon

The Gills full back whipped the set piece in to a good area, and Legge got in front of his marker and slotted the ball home to give the hosts an early lead.

GOAL C – Michael Harriman v Swindon



The on loan QPR defender, turned midfielder, scored his first goal in professional football with a fantastic left foot drive from inside the box.


Bradley Dack did well to win back the ball on the left hand side, he spotted the run of Joe Martin who crossed in from the byline, and Harriman did brilliantly to find a gap and double the Gills lead.

GOAL D – Cody McDonald v Brentford




McDonald set up a tense finish at Griffin Park when his neat finish from a Craig Fagan through ball pulled a goal back for Peter Taylor’s side.


Brentford had taken a 2-0 lead, but the visitors refused to give up and nearly grabbed an equaliser late on when Jack Marriott’s shot was well saved by David Button.
