HARRIMAN EXTENDS LOAN STAY

7 January 2014

Defender to remain at MEMS Priestfield Stadium until the end of the season

Michael Harriman has signed an extension to his loan deal at Gillingham which will see him stay at the club for the rest of the season.

Harriman, who joined from QPR in August as cover for the injured Matt Fish, has impressed during his stint at MEMS Priestfield Stadium and Manager Peter Taylor has decided to retain his services.

To date the 21-year-old defender has made 24 appearances in a Gills shirt, the latest coming in the 1-0 win over Wolves at Priestfield on Friday evening.

His versatility has also been proved after playing on the right side of midfield during the club's game at Oldham where Elliott Hewitt, who has returned to the club on loan from Ipswich, slotted in at right back.

While at the club Michael has been capped by the Republic of Ireland U21 national side on a number of occasions, including fixtures against Germany and Romania.
