GILLINGHAM V CRAWLEY MATCH PREVIEW

7 March 2014

We look ahead to Saturday's Sky Bet League One fixture against Crawley Town at MEMS Priestfield Stadium

GILLINGHAM V CRAWLEY TOWN
MEMS Priestfield Stadium
Sky Bet League One
Saturday March 8.
Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

Danny Kedwell (knee), Ryan Inniss (hamstring), Chris Whelpdale (ankle) and Michael Harriman (hamstring) will all be missing for Saturday’s visit of Crawley.

Kedwell has a slight ligament problem which could keep him out for up to three weeks, while the remaining trio won’t feature until at least the Bradford game in two weeks’ time.

Crawley have no fresh injury or suspension concerns ahead of the game, although defender Joe Walsh will return from Welsh U21 international duty, while Rory Fallon is available after being called up by New Zealand.

Manager Comments:

Peter Taylor has challenged his side to win at least four matches to stay in Sky Bet League One, and with two home games coming up in four days, the Manager believes now is a good time to get one under their belt.

Speaking to the club’s official website he said: “They are in good form, they are a good team and it will be a tough match.

“Matt Tubbs seems to be settled at the club, we need to watch him. Clarke is a good player too and I saw two different sides to them on Tuesday night.

“The most important thing is to concentrate on us being a good team to play against.

“John is doing very well, I’m sure he is enjoying it. He’s got very good experience, he’s a good Manager so it will be a good test but we need to bounce back and we know the importance of getting a win again because I think that will lift us.”

Betting:

Gills have lost three games on the bounce, and with Crawley unbeaten in their last six they are the favourites to win at 7/5. Gills are 7/4, while a draw is priced at 21/10.

For Charlie Lee to get on the score sheet first in a 1-0 win, Sky Bet are offering odds of 85/1!
