TAYLOR DELIVERS DANNY KEDWELL UPDATE

7 October 2014

Gillingham Manager Peter Taylor backs Danny Kedwell to be fit and raring for first team action in two weeks time

Peter Taylor believes Danny Kedwell will be available for selection once again in two weeks’ time.

The striker hasn’t featured for the Gills since the 2-0 win over Crewe on August 30 having had knee surgery, but following some hard work behind the scenes, the Manager is confident he will be fit and raring to go towards the end of the month.

Speaking to Gills Player he said: “He’s doing well and working extremely hard. The physio is working with him at the local gym at times but also at the club.

“In two weeks’ time I’m sure I will be saying he is available for selection which will be great because I think then his availability will be 100% Danny Kedwell. We could have done it the other way where he would have been 80% for a long time.

“Once he’s back playing, if we don’t push it too quickly, then he will be 100% fit for the rest of the season.”

As for Stuart Nelson, Taylor revealed he will be included in the match squad for the trip to Colchester.

He said: “He will definitely either be playing or on the bench tonight, he is in the 16 as there are only five subs.”
