17 April 2015

We bring you the team news, manager comments and latest odds as Gills prepare to welcome Rochdale to Priestfield

GILLINGHAM V ROCHDALE
Sky Bet League One
MEMS Priestfield Stadium
Saturday April 18
Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

Joe Martin will return to the match squad having overcome a hamstring injury; however Danny Galbraith (hamstring) continues to sit out.

Otherwise Justin Edinburgh has a fully fit squad to choose from.

As for Rochdale they also have no fresh injury or suspension concerns, although the pack may be juggled with defenders Ollie Lancashire (ankle) and Scott Tanser (calf) pushing for a recall while midfielder Matty Lund (shoulder) is also looking to start.

Manager Comments:

Justin Edinburgh: “Rochdale have had a fantastic season and have carried on the momentum from winning promotion.

“We want to collect as many points as we possibly can, we got the home win here [last week] and all the players in the team want to continue to play.”

Keith Hill: “I think they’ve probably got a bit too much to do to possibly get into the play-offs, but they’re safe and they’re in that comfortable position where they can be flexible and try things out to plan for next season.

“They can play free of pressure, but trust me, Justin Edinburgh will have these boys fighting every step of the way as he was a player, as he was as the Newport manager and as he is now as the Gillingham manager - they're a very good side.”

Previous Meetings:

The clubs last met in October 2014 when a goal from Cody McDonald in the last 10 minutes earned the Gills a point at Spotland.

In total the two sides met on 39 occasions – Rochdale have won 13 matches with the Gills two behind on 11. The remaining 15 fixtures have resulted in a draw.

Betting:

Gillingham Win – 7/4
Draw – 5/2
Rochdale Win – 7/5

Special Bet: John Marquis to score first in a 3-1 victory – 80/1.
