GILLS OPEN STATE OF THE ART GYM

27 August 2015

Chairman Paul Scally unveils new gym facility at MEMS Priestfield Stadium

Gillingham Football Club opened its impressive new gym facilities for the playing squad on Wednesday afternoon.

In front of Sky Sports News cameras Gillingham FC players were able to enjoy a recovery session following a tough trip to Birmingham City in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday evening.

The refurbishment project, which began two weeks ago, has seen the gymnasium space transformed with a range of new, state of the art equipment tailor made to aid players’ requirements throughout the season.

The Gills have got off to a great start in the 2015/16 Sky Bet League One campaign. Currently unbeaten in the League, Justin Edinburgh’s energetic young side now have facilities at their disposal to further strengthen their training regime.

The investment is something Chairman Paul Scally hopes will aid the players as they seek to achieve promotion this season.

“We have never gone to the extreme of having a gym to the level we do now. This is an extremely professional and international level gym and when you look at our players, that recognises the fact we need to push them on now, both mentally and physically to the next level.”

The Chairman added, “All the players are priceless because they’re very important to what we’re trying to achieve. We’re trying to achieve promotion to the Championship.”

The Gills are next in action at MEMS Priestfield Stadium on Saturday 5th September. Please click here to purchase tickets.
