Matt Fish follows Danny Kedwell in signing for non league side Ebbsfleet United

Gillingham FC can confirm that defender Matt Fish has joined Ebbsfleet United on a permanent basis.

The full back recently completed a loan spell at League Two side Portsmouth but has joined up with Danny Kedwell to battle for promotion from Conference South.

The deal was announced by Fleet prior to their FA Trophy game against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday, which they won 1-0.

During his time at Priestfield Matt made 85 appearances and scored four times, including the 2012/13 Goal of the Season winner at home to Accrington Stanley.

He picked up an injury on the opening day of last season at home to Colchester, returning on the very last day of the campaign as a second half sub against Shrewsbury at Priestfield.

His first team chances have been limited this season, his last appearance in a Gillingham shirt coming in the 2-1 win over Crawley in the JPT on November 11.

We would like to thank Matt for his services while at MEMS Priestfield Stadium and wish him all the best for the future.
