BRISTOL CITY V GILLINGHAM FC: MATCH PREVIEW

13 March 2015

We bring you the team news, manager comments and latest odds ahead of Gillingham's trip to Ashton Gate

BRISTOL CITY V GILLINGHAM
Ashton Gate
Sky Bet League One
Saturday March 14
Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

Justin Edinburgh could include new loan signing Oliver Muldoon in his match squad for the trip to Bristol. The midfielder signed from Charlton on Wednesday afternoon and is eligible if required.

Josh Pritchard (hamstring) could miss out while Doug Loft will be fine after recovering from a slight knock.

As for City they have a fully fit squad to choose from. However Matt Smith, who scored seven goals against the Gills in three games, has returned to Fulham and will not feature.

Kieran Agard scored during the midweek win over Yeovil and he is likely to be partnered in attack by Aaron Wilbraham.

Manager Comments:

Justin Edinburgh: “They are at the top of the table for a reason and have been very consistent over the duration.

“We are on a good run ourselves; it’s a tough test but it’s a game we are relishing and looking forward to.”

Justin's pre match press conference can be seen here.

Steve Cotterill: “We’ve been to some tough venues and faced some really vociferous crowds – that’s what we want Ashton Gate to be like for us now.

“They need to make it really noisy and make it difficult for any opposition players coming here, just like we’ve experienced on the road.”

Previous Meetings:

The clubs have already met on four occasions this season alone, with City winning three and the other being a draw.

Steve Cotterill’s side won 2-1 in the first round of the FA Cup at Priestfield before taking all three points from Kent in a 3-1 league victory, traveling back just over a week later where they won 4-2 in the first leg of the JPT Area Final.

Gills drew the return leg meaning the Robins advanced to the National Final at Wembley, which they will contest next Sunday against Walsall.

In total the two clubs have met on 66 occasions – the Robins have won 29 games, the Gills have won 21 fixtures while the other 16 have been a draw.

Betting:

Bristol City are the favourites for the match with odds of 1/2, while Gillingham are 5/1 to claim maximum points. The draw is priced at 100/30.

Special Bet: Bradley Dack to score first in a 2-2 draw – 175/1.
