We bring you the team news, manager comments and latest odds as Gills prepare to take on Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD V GILLINGHAM
The ProAct Stadium
Sky Bet League One
Tuesday March 17
Kick-Off, 7.45pm

Team News:

Jake Hessenthaler (tonsillitis) could return to the Gills squad after missing Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Bristol City, with Josh Pritchard (hamstring) also a possible inclusion as he continues to recover from the injury sustained against Barnsley.

As for Chesterfield Drew Talbot has been recalled from his loan spell at Plymouth, however striker Caolan Lavery has returned to Sheffield Wednesday after his brief stint with the Spireites.

Midfielder Sam Morsy serves the second of a two match ban for accumulating 10 bookings.

Manager Comments:

Paul Cook: “Justin's done great, he's a great lad and in my opinion he's one of the brighter young managers in the game. He had great success at Newport with Wembley appearances and getting Newport into the play-offs in League Two.”

Justin Edinburgh: "Without the ball we are looking very competitive and aggressive. I still feel we can get better with the ball and that is something we need to work at.

"It is difficult playing back-to-back away games but the players will look forward to it. We are in good form and long may it continue."

Previous Meetings:

The clubs last met on December 20 when the visitors took all three points in a narrow 3-2 victory at MEMS Priestfield Stadium.

Sam Clucas and an own goal from Leon Legge put the visitors in a commanding position before goals from Cody McDonald and John Egan brought the game level.

However a cracking strike from Jimmy Ryan secured the points, with McDonald striking just wide with the last kick of the match.

In total the clubs have met on 65 occasions, Gillingham have won 29 of the games with our opposition claiming 21. The remaining 15 matches have seen a level score.

Betting:

Chesterfield Win – 7/10
Gillingham Win – 15/4
Draw – 11/4
