END OF SEASON CELEBRATIONS

7 May 2015

The Girls Centre of Excellence recently held their annual end of season awards evening at Priestfield

With the season nearly at an end the squads from our Girls Centre of Excellence had the opportunity to attend Priestfield Stadium for their end of season celebrations and presentations.

The evening gave the girls the chance to play in some relaxed and fun games on the pitches, with the coaches more than happy to join in and show of their honed skills. The girls were also treated to visits by Gillingham Ladies Captain Lauren Williams, Emma Tune and 2014-15 Players' Player, Ellie Manning.

Our Players' Player award was also presented on the night, all the girls had voted for whom they thought had made a significant contribution to the squad throughout the season  and deserved to be recognised for their efforts, the winners were;

•    U17 – Tamsin De Bunsen
•    U15 – Ellie Hodgetts
•    U13 – Milly Penfold
•    U11 – Lois Robson
•    U9 – Daniella Way

Good luck to all our second year U17s who will be leaving us this summer to pursue football careers in the adult game. It’s been a roller coaster of the season for the U17s, which saw them make history by reaching the semi-finals of The FA Youth Cup.

They been a fantastic squad to coach and the Centre and the Football Club are very proud of all their efforts, hard work and achievements.

For those moving into the adult game we wish them every success with their future careers, you will very much be missed from the Centre but thankfully a number of you will still be involved in our Girls Academy and or the Gillingham Ladies and we look forward to seeing you continue with your development.

And of course thank you to all the players, parents and our staff and everyone involved for their on-going-efforts, hard work and commitment that they’ve show throughout the season and for making the Centre such a success on and off the pitch, we couldn’t do it without you and we can’t thank you enough.

A massive thank you also to the Gillingham Ladies for attending, handing out the medals and awards and also for posing for lots of selfies with the girls.

And thank you to all at Gillingham Ladies for your on-going support and time and to Gillingham Ladies photographer Julian Hart, @JulianHartPhoto, for taking some fantastic photos of the evening.
