COVENTRY CITY V GILLINGHAM FC: MATCH PREVIEW

20 November 2015

We bring you the team news, manager comments, latest odds and ticket information as the Gills prepare for a top of the table clash against Coventry

COVENTRY V GILLINGHAM
Sky Bet League One
Ricoh Arena
Saturday November 21
Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

Apart from Luke Norris (ankle) Gills boss Justin Edinburgh has a fully fit squad to choose from ahead of Saturday’s top of the table clash against Coventry.

Norris could be back within four or five weeks and so Dominic Samuel is likely to keep his place up front with Ben Williamson having signed for Cambridge on loan.

Harry Lennon was recalled by parent club Charlton on Friday afternoon so either Deji Oshilaja or Max Ehmer will return in the heart of defence.

As for Coventry Ben Turner and Gael Bigirimana are available having joined the Sky Blues on loan.

Turner fills in for Reda Johnson who is out for the rest of the season. James Maddison (ankle) is recovering well but this game has come too soon for him.

Manager Comments –

Tony Mowbray: “Gillingham are a high-intensity team who can do a bit of both – they can play through the lines but they can go long, get a lot of men around the ball and in the box.

"They’ve scored more goals from set-plays than anybody in the league so we’ve got to be ready for that, play our football and give them problems.”

Justin Edinburgh: “We’ve started to get used to playing in these games, we took part in a fantastic one at Walsall and if we can perform to the same level we have a good chance of coming back with something."

Previous Meetings:

The clubs last met in January earlier this year when three goals in the last 10 minutes clinched a crucial 3-1 win for the Gills at Priestfield, then under the `Gang of Four` management setup.

John Marquis, Cody McDonald and Jermaine McGlashan sealed all three points in a fantastic second half performance.

In total there have been 39 meetings with Coventry winning 24 times and Gillingham 15.
