Team News:

Management Comments:

Justin Edinburgh – “I’m sure it will be a good atmosphere and Southend will bring a good following. The end of the game on Tuesday was the best I’ve witnessed here, it was electric and that’s how we want it to be.”

Graham Coughlan (Assistant Manager) - “They're a confident team who are top of the league, score a lot of late goals and goals from set pieces.

“They'll be a tough opposition but I'm looking forward to seeing what our lads can produce on Saturday. We're focussing on what we can do though.”

Previous Meetings:

The clubs haven’t met since New Year’s Day in 2013 when an early Chris Whelpdale strike gave the Gills all three points at Roots Hall.

Martin Allen’s side also won the reverse match that season with Danny Kedwell scoring from the penalty spot.

In total the teams have met on 105 occasions – the Gills edge the head to head statistics with 42 wins to 36. The other 27 games have been a draw.

Betting:

Gillingham Win – 6/5
Draw – 12/5
Southend Win – 11/5

Special Bet: Harry Lennon to score first in a 3-2 Gillingham win – 290/1.
