Young supporter Callum Smith had a day to treasure after his Mum won him the experience of a lifetime as Gillingham FC’s ‘12th Man’ for the 2-1 victory over Blackpool FC last Saturday.

This season’s new fan package has proven extremely popular with fans treating their loved ones to a unique birthday, anniversary or celebratory present.

After his day out at Priestfield, Callum wrote a diary of his day to remember, to be published on the Gillingham FC official website.

“My '12th man' experience was one I will never forget.

I liked being greeted by Charlotte, she was so kind and welcoming.

She took me on a tour of Priestfield and was full of interesting facts and knowledge. I loved sitting in the Chairman's chair in the stands looking over the stadium with the sun lighting up the pitch.

Stepping out on the pitch made me feel amazing. I felt like one of the players coming out for a game. When I had my picture taken it made me feel like a celebrity and I can't wait to get it printed.

Meeting Justin Edinburgh was a huge shock and I was trembling in fear but he made me feel at ease and was so funny.

Receiving my signed shirt with my name at the back was a dream come true. I'm getting it framed to go with my signed football I won on the first game of the season.

It was so much fun getting close to the team as they did their warm up and was great to record a part of it for you all to enjoy online. It really did make me feel part of the action.

Thank you so much for the experience, I have so many memories I will never forget.

I can't wait to do it again as my Mum said I can for my birthday!

Best wishes,
Callum Smith”
