GILLINGHAM FC V BLACKPOOL: MATCH PREVIEW

11 September 2015

We bring you the team news, manager comments, latest odds and ticket information ahead of Blackpool's visit to Priestfield

GILLINGHAM V BLACKPOOL
Sky Bet League One
MEMS Priestfield Stadium
Saturday September 12
Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

John Egan (thigh), Brennan Dickenson (knee) and Aaron Morris (hamstring) could all return to the match squad.

Morris has been out since the opening day of the season while John and Brennan suffered injuries in the lead up to last weekend’s win over Doncaster.

Deji Oshilaja (knee) is likely to sit out though.

As for Blackpool they have a fully fit squad to choose from.

Manager Comments:

Justin Edinburgh – “They managed to get a win away at Scunthorpe on Saturday; their first win in 20 which I think is a bit of a blessing. Not too long ago they were a Premier League side, there are a lot of documented problems but I think we’ve got to push that to one side.”

Neil McDonald - "We've got some good players at this football club and they're all fighting for their place and all fighting for the shirt. I think we're getting better, they're getting to know each other and hopefully Scunthorpe helps us turn the corner.”

Previous Meetings:

The teams haven’t played each other since March 2007 when a 2-2 draw was the end result at MEMS Priestfield Stadium. Dean McDonald and Andrew Crofts were on target that day for the hosts as Gills clinched a point.

In total the clubs have met on 33 occasions. Blackpool have the upper hand in the head to head stats with 12 victories. Gillingham have won nine times with the remaining 12 fixtures being a draw.

Betting:

Gillingham win – 4-7
Draw – 3/1
Blackpool Win – 9/2

Special Bet: Doug Loft to score first in a 3-1 Gillingham victory – 90/1.
