Club sad to report the passing of Nick Nicolaou
Everyone at Gillingham Football Club was devastated to learn of the passing of General Sales Manager Nick Nicolaou at the weekend.
Nick worked at the club for over 15 years across two different spells and was one of the first members of staff to be employed by Chairman Paul Scally in 1995.
His family have delivered the following message on Nick's behalf:
"We would like to thank everyone at the Football Club for their support, in particular the Chairman who has been fantastic to Nick and the family in what has been a difficult period.
"He visited Nick on several occasions which we are extremely grateful for and we cannot thank him enough.
"His kindness, support and friendship has been greatly appreciated.
"In addition Gwen [the Club Secretary] has been in regular contact with us and the staff passed on kind messages on a regular basis which we really valued.
"Nick's funeral will take place on Friday October 9 at 4pm at Bobbing Crematorium in Sittingbourne, followed by a reception at Priestfield Stadium.
"I'm sure he would like to see as many of you there as possible, the more the merrier."
The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Nick's family and friends at this difficult time.
