GILLS HELP KENYAN CHILDREN

28 April 2016

Kit and football boots given to the Melon Mission charity

For the second year running, Gillingham Football Club are delighted to have helped the Melon Mission charity in Kenya by donating kit to children in need.

The haul of kit, which included shirts, shorts, socks, tracksuits, coats and football boots kindly donated by the Gills’ Academy players, was handed over to children by a travelling party from MidKent College earlier in April.

A spokesperson from MidKent said: “The children were so happy with the donations of football boots and kits kindly given by Gillingham Football Club.”

The Melon Mission is a charity that provides Kenyan street children with food, clothing and education in a slum area of Nakuru, the country’s fourth largest city.
