WOMEN AND GIRLS UPDATE 22

11 March 2016

Weekly update of what has been happening at the club this week....

Gills Ladies overcome resilient Denham after first half scare

Following the substantial number of postponed home games in December and January Gillingham Ladies have a number of consecutive home games and this weekend the team welcomed Denham United LFC to Chatham Town FC in the FA Women’s Premier League. After a first half scare Gills Ladies made a five star second half come back to secure all three points.

Gills Ladies had started the game brightly but Denham took a surprise lead in the first half through a penalty. After the interval it was Gills Ladies that had the first chances and within five minutes got the equalising goal shortly followed by a second and third goal scored by Paige Baker-Carroll and Kallie Balfour. The Denham  goalkeeper pulled off a number of good saves to keep the scoreline at 3-1, but in the last ten minutes Gills Ladies completed the come back with two further goals through Paige Baker-Carroll and Lydia Wills to win the game 5-1.

The squads also got behind the picture frame at training to show their support for #KentGirlsCan, find out more about the campaign click here.
