No fresh injury concerns for Steve Lovell ahead of Fleetwood game.

FLEETWOOD TOWN V GILLINGHAM

Sky Bet League 1

Highbury Stadium

Friday December 22

Kick-off, 7pm

Team News:

Connor Ogilvie could return to the match squad after suffering with illness, but in the event he doesn’t Steve Lovell has Bradley Garmston fit again, or Alex Lacey could retain his position at left-back.

As for Fleetwood Conor McAleny and Bobby Grant have both been training ahead of the Gills visit.

McAleny (ankle) and Grant (knee) have been out since October but could return to the bench. Otherwise Uwe Rosler has a fully fit squad to choose from.

Manager Comments:

Uwe Rosler – “If we can limit our mistakes we have a good chance of winning the game. Gillingham have had some outstanding results this season, but we need to focus on ourselves, be good in both boxes and have that will to win. Now, we need the supporters when we aren’t going so well. Now we really need them, to help us and support us, and give the players confidence.”

Steve Lovell - “They’re not on the best of runs but that doesn’t count for anything; you just have to plan, we’ll dust everybody off and prepare properly. It’s another big game for us.

“I will get a reaction because you can’t afford to not perform week in, week out."

Previous Meetings:

The clubs last met at MEMS Priestfield Stadium in April when Uwe Rosler’s men came from 2-1 down to win 3-2 in the last minute at ME7. Kyle Dempsey’s goal meant Gillingham came away empty handed, ensuring a dramatic final day of the season would be played out at Northampton.

In total the two teams have only met eight times with Fleetwood winning five times and Gills claiming one victory; that being a 5-1 win at Priestfield in September 2015.

Odds:

Fleetwood win – 17/20

Draw – 12/5

Gills win – 16/5

Special bet: Sean Clare to score first in a 2-2 draw – 250/1.
