TEAM NEWS
The Gills have lost just once in 11 home games, and will be looking to build on the recent home win against Southend United for the visit of the Iron.

Mitch Dickenson came on for his league debut at Gigg Lane on Saturday, replacing the injured Ryan Jackson, and Pennock was full of praise for the young defender.

"He played like a seasoned pro," said Pennock. "He was talking, he cleared his lines when he had to and he did the basics right. He didn't look out of place at all. It's another youngster that has come through and it can only be good for the future of the football club."

Following last week's 2-1 win against Bury, Gillingham could secure back-to-back league victories for the third time this season with three points on Saturday, with the last coming back in November.

THE OPPOSITION
Graham Alexander's team sit in third place in the Sky Bet League One table, just outside the automatic promotion places.

The Iron come into the Kent clash without a win in eight matches and on the back of three straight defeats.

Scunthorpe suffered last-minute defeat in midweek at the Valley when Tony Watt scored an injury time penalty to give Charlton all three points, after Kevin Van Veen's 75th-minute equaliser looked as though it had secured a point for the visitors.

Saturday's opponents have been slow out of the blocks in recent weeks, and Alexander has demanded his players are switched on from the first minute on Saturday as his side look for promotion to the Championship.

LAST TIME WE MET
The teams last met at Glanford Park back on a miserable day back in August, with Scunthorpe winning 5-0; the Gills' first defeat of the 2016/17 season.

Gillingham won 2-1 in the same fixture last season with Brennan Dickenson and Harry Lennon scoring for the home side after Scott Laird put the Iron ahead.

The teams have met 40 times in total, with the Gills winning 11, drawing 14 and losing 15.
