Team News:

New interim boss Peter Taylor, alongside Steve Lovell, Mark Patterson and Glen Johnson will be without Scott Wagstaff and Bradley Garmston (both calf). Tom Eaves serves the first of a four match ban after a yellow card and a straight red during Saturday’s match at Rochdale.

Conor Wilkinson (hip) is doubtful while Billy Bingham is rated 50/50. Lee Martin serves his final match of a three game ban.

As for Scunthorpe Lee Novak is fit to travel while Andrew Crofts will be assessed up until the last minute as he looks to play against his former club. Conor Townsend (calf) is out along with Luke Williams, Jonathon Margetts and Charlie Goode.

Management Comments:

Peter Taylor: “The chairman has asked me to get a list together (of potential managers) and he has got a list together.

“You can imagine there have been a million phone calls. I don’t mind people putting their names forward once Ady has gone, it’s the ones who have put their names forward before he has gone are the ones I haven’t got a lot of respect for.

“I am going to do this until the chairman finds the right person and I am going to help him with that by putting my point of view over. As I always do, I will give him my honest opinion.”

Graham Alexander: “The biggest thing for us is making sure we get our performance right. It’s the best way of making sure we give ourselves the best chance of winning. We’ll go down there and look to play our usual game, and take it to the opposition.”

We’ve met before:

The teams last met at MEMS Priestfield Stadium in March when a hat-trick of Josh Wright penalties snatched victory from the Iron; the visitors having gone 2-0 up thanks to Harry Toffolo and Paddy Madden.

In total the clubs have met on 41 occasions. Scunthorpe have won 15 games to Gillingham’s 12.

Odds:

Gills win – 29/10

Draw – 13/5

Scunthorpe Win – 10/11

Special: Sean Clare to score first in a 2-1 Gillingham win – 115/1.
