OXFORD UNITED V GILLINGHAM

Sky Bet League 1

The Kassam Stadium

Saturday September 9

Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

Ady Pennock has Conor Wilkinson available once again after serving his three match ban and he could go straight into the starting XI.

Bradley Garmston (calf) and Aaron Morris (knee) remain unavailable while Greg Cundle will be looking to shake off a slight knock he received on Saturday against Shrewsbury.

Billy Bingham (foot) should be fine to play.

As for Oxford they could welcome back Curtis Nelson who has overcome an injury while new signings Alex Mowatt and former Gills loanee John Mousinho are both available for selection.

Management Comments:

Ady Pennock – “I am confident things will change, we’ve been unlucky that’s for sure. A win will lift everybody, we will keep working the way we are and in every game we have played we have kept going for 95 minutes.”

Pep Clotet - “Two draws, two wins and we only lost one so eight points after only five games is very encouraging and the squad is gelling more and more. Every game is difficult in this league but given the fact we have two home games in a row we have to use them to make sure we get as many points as possible.”

We’ve met before:

The clubs last met on January 2 earlier this year when Oxford took maximum points from MEMS Priestfield Stadium in a 1-0 win. Cheyenne Dunkley scored the winner on 66 minutes with Gills unable to get back on level terms.

This proved to be Justin Edinburgh’s last game in charge.

In total the teams have met on 41 occasions with Gills having won 18 fixtures and Oxford clinching 10 wins.

Betting:

Oxford win – 8/13

Draw – 29/10

Gillingham win – 17/4

Special: Conor Wilkinson to score first in a 2-1 Gillingham victory – 100/1.
