Tom Eaves and Luke O'Neill back in contention for Oldham clash.

OLDHAM ATHLETIC V GILLINGHAM

BOUNDARY PARK

SKY BET LEAGUE ONE

SATURDAY APRIL 14

KICK OFF, 3PM

Team News:

Top scorer Tom Eaves is back in contention to be in the match day squad having missed Tuesday’s draw with Blackburn.

Luke O’Neill is also available having missed the last two games having carried a groin issue. Billy Bingham is likely to miss the rest of the season after picking up a thigh injury.

Frank Moussa and Rhys Murphy are still a week or so away after picking up knocks against Doncaster.

As for Oldham Captain Anthony Gerrard is likely to start having played against Walsall during the week without being 100% fit.

Kean Bryan is absent with a hamstring strain.

Brian Wilson is now fit again after a spell on the sidelines with a groin injury. Forward Craig Davies made his comeback from the bench in the 1-1 draw against Walsall on Wednesday and could be in contention to start.

Manager Comments:

Steve Lovell - “The better we perform the happier we are and the supporters are. Hopefully the fans can see there is progress.

“Defensively we have been sound all year. We know what to expect Saturday, we are prepared for a tough battle as every point is vital.”

Richie Wellens - “I’d be happy with a win on Saturday to make it four points from these last two games.

“Win on Saturday and we’ll have 48 points with five games left. I’d be 100-per-cent happy with that.”

Previous Meetings:

The two sides drew 0-0 earlier in the season at Priestfield in a game which Mark Byrne’s goal line clearance kept the scores level. Gills very nearly won all three points as O’Neill’s late free-kick hit the underside of the crossbar but bounced the other side of the goal line.

The Gills have failed to beat Oldham in their last five attempts with the last victory coming in 2015 as they won 3-2 thanks to a Bradley Dack winner. The last time Gillingham won at Boundary Park you would have to go back to 2000 where the game ended 3-1.

Odds:

Oldham win- 17/20

Draw- 5/2

Gillingham win- 10/3

Special Bet:  Josh Parker to score first and Gillingham to win 2-0- 95/1
