Third round place in the FA Cup up for grabs.

1 December 2018

Steve Lovell due to select strong side for second round tie at Slough.

SLOUGH TOWN V GILLINGHAM

Arbour Park

Emirates FA Cup Second Round

Sunday December 2, 2018

Kick-Off, 2pm

Team News:

Gabriel Zakuani will be assessed right up until the last minute having suffered a back spasm during Tuesday’s win at Bristol Rovers. Callum Reilly serves the first of a three match ban while Regan Charles-Cook and Brandon Hanlan should be available for selection.

As for Slough they are missing two players themselves through suspension; Ben Harris and Guy Hollis both unavailable.

Manager Comments:

Steve Lovell - “We’re just preparing as normal, as if we’re playing against a league side because that’s the way we’ve got to approach it. We’ve got to give them every kind of respect.

“They’ve done very well to get to this stage of the FA Cup so they’re a decent side; they’re on their own pitch – they know it, they’ll have a good following of supporters there and it all stacks up against us, so we’ve got to make sure we go there and prepare properly."

Jon Underwood (Slough joint-manager) - “Gillingham are at the wrong end in League One but they’re three levels above us and full-time professionals, so we know they’ve got some quality.

“Obviously it will be a tough game but we’ve learnt about them. We know what their strengths are, and where they struggle in the league and where teams can hurt them.

“The question is can we do that to them. We will have to play to our potential on the day really.

“We believe in ourselves and have got some quality in the squad with players that can produce a little bit of magic.”

Odds:

Slough win – 4/1

Draw – 14/5

Gills win – 6/4
