Preview | Gillingham v Luton Town

Gills back in action less than three days after cup victory.

23 November 2018

Back to league matters as Luton Town visit Priestfield.

GILLINGHAM V LUTON TOWN
The Medway Priestfield Stadium
Sky Bet League 1
Saturday November 24
Kick-off, 3pm

Team News:

Callum Reilly (groin), Josh Parker (int.duty) and Dean Parrett are all available for selection ahead of Saturday’s game at Priestfield.

Manager Steve Lovell hinted that a couple of changes could be made to the team following Wednesday’s extra-time victory over Hartlepool in the FA Cup.

As for Luton, Danny Hylton returns following a four-match ban.

Winger Luke Berry continues to miss out with a knee injury, but other than that boss Nathan Jones has a fully fit squad to choose from.

Manager Comments:

Steve Lovell - “It will be interesting and it will be open. We have scored quite a few goals ourselves this season and it should be a good game. I don’t think it will be 0-0."

Nathan Jones - "All I can do is prepare my team. We're in good form and we want to continue that form. If inadvertently at 4.55pm on Saturday and Gillingham have been tired and we've benefited from that, then all well and good, but I am not preparing for them to be tired."

Previous Meetings:

Our last two meetings against Luton have come in the Football League Trophy in 2015/16 and 2016/17 respectively, both of which took place at Priestfield.  The most recent game (Aug 2016) saw Luton Town take the three points with a 2-1 victory.

In total both teams have played 60 games against each other. The Hatters have a lead with 29 wins to Gillingham’s 18.

Odds:

Gills win – 3/1
Draw – 29/10
Luton Town win – 4/5

Special Bet: Max Ehmer to score first in a 2-1 Gills win – 300/1.
