Local trip for the Gills in pre-season.
Gillingham step up their preparations ahead of the new campaign with a trip to Leyton Orient for the club's latest pre-season fixture.
Steve Evans’ side will take on the League 2 club just a week prior to the start of the new season, which begins with a first round Carabao Cup tie against Southend United at MEMS Priestfield Stadium on Saturday September 5 (1pm).
Orient, now under the management of Ross Embleton, finished 17th in the fourth tier last season and have since added to their squad, one of their new players being former Gills midfielder Ousseynou Cisse who spent time on loan at Brisbane Road during 2019/20.
Conor Wilkinson and Josh Wright also now play for the O’s, who kick-off their new season against Forest Green Rovers in the EFL Cup.
