Watch Gills new signings in action for the first time at Folkestone this weekend in the club's opening pre-season friendly.

The Gills are back in action this Saturday for the first time in just over two months when they take on Folkestone Invicta at the BuildKent Stadium in a pre-season friendly (3pm).

Neil Harris, David Livermore and Deren Ibrahim will take their new look team to Cheriton Road where six new signings could all take to the field for the club's first warm-up game ahead of the 2022/23 Sky Bet League 2 season.

Ashley Maynard-Brewer, Will Wright, Dominic Jefferies, Shaun Williams, Jake Turner and Scott Kashket are all available if selected for the tie, with prices as follows:

Adults - £8

Concessions - £5

Children (5-18) - £3

U5 - FREE

Ahead of the game, Neil Harris said:

"The idea is that the players will play for a maximum of 45 minutes. It’s still early days, and I don’t want to tempt fate as everyone’s been brilliant for the last couple of days and let it continue. We will have players training with us that will be looking to earn contracts, so they will be on show as well. We will talk about them nearer the time.

There will be a selection of players playing that are handpicked to come and play and join the group. Academy players will certainly get an opportunity, as I’m desperate to see four or five of them play that we really like the look of.

It will be a mixed group between players that are signed and in the building, lads that are in training with us with the purpose of looking at being here for a longer term, and then the younger players. The idea will be to give a maximum of 45 minutes to the majority of the players."

Folkestone boss Neil Cugley is also set to play a number of new signings, with former Gills centre-back Callum Davies also available if selected. Roland Edge, who was part of the Gillingham team that defeated Wigan at Wembley in the 2000 second division play-off final, is the club's assistant manager.

Cash payments can be made at both turnstiles, with card taken at the Bar Invicta turnstile. The SAT NAV code for the stadium is CT19 5JU.

Car Parking in the surrounding area is limited so we suggest leaving extra time to locate a space. Folkestone Central and Folkestone West stations are not far from the stadium.
