The club is delighted to announce that Matty Macarthur has put pen to paper on a professional contract at ME7.
Matty Macarthur has signed his first professional Gills contract.
The 18-year-old, who was born in Sydney, follows Ronald Sithole, Alex Giles and Sam Gale in agreeing terms on a pro deal having been offered a new contract following the conclusion of the 2022/23 campaign.
Matty impressed while on loan with both Margate and Sheppey last season, having featured in a number of pre-season friendlies for the first-team in the summer of 2022.
He played for Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia before joining Southampton. He joined Gills initially on trial before being offered an apprenticeship in 2021.
The forward is likely to be involved in the squad that travels to Dover Athletic on Saturday.
