Jonny Williams knows now is the time to get some wins on the board and strengthen the chances of reaching the play-offs.

The Gills welcome Wrexham on Saturday but midfield-schemer Jonny Williams is hoping to send the Welsh side home pointless.

Wrexham, the stars of Disney+ with their incredible underdog story, roll into town and with all home tickets in the stadium already sold out, the stage is set for a thrilling game.

Williams' believes the game might have all the makings of a classic and he is calling on the Gills fans to make their voices heard.

"The atmosphere will be electric," said Williams ahead of the game. "When this place is rocking, it gives the players a real boost. We need to play with intensity, drive and passion, which I am sure we will do.

"When I look at the Gills players in the changing room, I see players who want to get promoted, so I know we will be giving our best.

"It's getting down to crunch time in the season. We have got 13 games left to win as many as possible and we have got a real chance of getting in the play-offs. Wrexhan are pushing for automatic promotion, so we are really looking forward to it. There should be a great atmosphere.

"Wrexham are a team who pull in a big crowd, that is great for them. This is a game that we want to win. Fair play for what they achieved last year, getting over 100 points. They have some really good players, but so have we. We are looking to put in a good performance and get the three points.

"We want to win more games and we want to win every home game. We are never happy with a point, even when we recently drew with the league leaders (Stockport). It wasn't a good game if I'm honest.

"We go into every game wanting to win and Saturday will be no different. We need to play on the front foot and give them something to worry about. We need to bring intensity. We have a responsibility as players to get the fans on our side, we need them as much as they need us.

"We have to respect Wrexham because they are a very good outfit with some very good players, but I believe the same about us. It should be a good game."
