Defender makes debut against Southend.....

Gillingham have completed the signing of defender Leon Legge on a one-month loan deal from Brentford.

The deal for the 27-year-old centre-back has been completed in time to play Southend at Roots Hall later on today.

Legge trained with the players on Monday afternoon prior to the first game of the New Year, and makes his first start for the club alongside Adam Barrett.

Leon has played 115 times for the Bees and scored 10 goals in total, however he has only featured 11 times for the club this season under the management of Uwe Rosler.

A permanent deal for the player is expected to follow.
