We look back at some of our best moment against the BladesThe Gills travel to Bramall Lane tomorrow for the first time in just under a decade, and to mark the occasion we've gone through the archives to look at some of our most memorable matches against the Blades.
Tuesday March 25 2003 - Sheffield United 2-2 Gillingham
In a topsy turvy encounter the home side took the lead just before the break when Steve Kabba slotted past Vince Bartram to give Neil Warnock's side a timely advantage.
Gills responded well after the interval with Simon Osborn and Paul Shaw turning the game on its head to give Andy Hessenthaler's side a real chance of causing an upset.
However Paul Peschisolido was on hand to deny the Gills a famous win when he found the net with less than 10 minutes to go to earn a point.
Saturday April 14 2001 - Gillingham 4-1 Sheffield United
A couple of years prior to that draw at Bramall Lane, the Gills recorded a fantastic victory over United following three goals in 13 second half minutes.
Iffy Onoura had given the Gills the lead after half an hour, but after Peter Ndlovu had equalized shortly after the interval, the game could have swung either way.
However the hosts stepped up a gear and thanks to Marlon King (2) and Paul Shaw, the home faithful went home delighted after three well earned points.
Saturday November 4 2000 - Sheffield United 1-2 Gillingham
The Blades were stunned when the newly promoted Gills visited Sheffield and took all three points.
Paul Smith and Andy Thomson netted either side at half time to put the visitors in control, and despite a Laurent D'Jaffo goal 12 minutes from time, the hosts were unable to break down the Gills defence for a second time.
Saturday March 22 1980 - Gillingham 3-0 Sheff Utd
In an emphatic victory at Priestfield Danny Westwood grabbed a brace and Steve Bruce netted a solitary goal for the hosts as they scored three without reply.
The Gills went on to finish 16th in the third division, then under the management of Gerry Summers.
