Gills full-back Michael Harriman named in Republic of Ireland Under-21’s squad
Gillingham’s on loan right-back Michael Harriman has been named in tonight’s Republic of Ireland Under-21’s squad for their European Championship’s qualifying round fixture.The Republic of Ireland U-21’s are hoping to qualify for the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championships which will be held in the Czech Republic. If they are successful it will be the first time they have reached the final stages of any European competition.
The Republic are currently top of Group 6 on goal difference, having beaten the Faroe Islands 4-1 in their first fixture of the group stages. Tonight Ireland face 4/7 favourites Germany in their second group qualifying round match at The Showgrounds in Sligo.
