Two League 1 teams will join the Gills in Group E of the EFL Trophy Southern Section.
Gillingham have been drawn in Group E of the EFL Trophy Southern Section for the 2023/24 competition.
They will be joined by both Leyton Orient and Portsmouth, with Fulham U21's completing the line-up.
Last season the Gills were eliminated in the group stages having played Colchester United, Brighton U21 and Charlton Athletic.
