1923 - Jimmy Greenhalgh 
 
Northerner Jimmy played for Hull City, Bury, and Wigan Athletic before arriving at Priestfield as player-coach under Archie Clark in July 1956 
 
His debut came at Ipswich two months later, the first of 17 appearances in which he scored once in the home game with Newport. 
 
After leaving Gillingham he has held various roles, trainer at Lincoln City, Newcastle United and Middlesbrough, chief scout at Sunderland and manager at Darlington
