BIRTHS...
1988 - Donovan Simmonds
The young striker joined the Gills on loan from Coventry City late in March 2008 and made his Football League debut four days later as an 84th minute substitute for Dennis Oli in a home win against Luton Town.
He made three substitute appearances before returning to City and that summer joined Kilmarnock on loan.
Spells have followed at Floriana (Malta), Greenock Morton and Dover Athletic amongst others, and is currently playing for Chelmsford City.

DEATHS...
1953 - Samuel Meston
The outside-right joined the Gills from home-town club Southampton in August 1926 and made his debut at home to Bristol City.
He scored nine goals in 68 games during two seasons with the club before moving to Everton in March 1928 and spells followed at Tranmere Rovers and Newport (IoW).
Sammy was later employed as a 'bookie's runner' but died of a heart attack on 12th October 1953 at the age of 51.
