BIRTHS...
1900 - George Shaw
The right-back came to Gillingham from Rossington Main Colliery in August 1920 and made the first of just three appearances at home to Merthyr Town the following season.
In the summer of 1922 he returned to South Yorkshire when joining Doncaster Rovers.
1974 - Micky Galloway
Mick joined the Gills from Notts County, initially on loan in March 1997, then permanently the following August for £25,000.
The midfielder scored five times in 84 appearances for the Gills, and had a spell on loan at Lincoln City before signing for Chesterfield in November 1999 for £15,000.
Spells followed at Carlisle United, Hereford United, Gretna, Cowdenbeath and a whole host of non-league sides.
He is currently managing Baris Northern Counties East League – Premier Division Long Eaton United.
