BIRTHS...
1956 - Charlie Freeman
Previously with Overseal Swifts, Burton Swifts and Fulham, the forward came to Priestfield Stadium from Chelsea in June 1921 having made 104 appearances, scoring 22 times, while at Stamford Bridge.
He made his Gills debut at Southampton on the opening day of the 1921-22 season and registered his first goal in the following game against Charlton Athletic at home.
The forward scored 24 goals in 88 games for the Gills before moving on to Maidstone United in the summer of 1923.
Charlie died in Fulham on this day in 1956.
1992 - Michael Richardson
The young midfielder arrived from Newcastle United on loan in February 2013 and made his debut the following month as a substitute against Plymouth.
