TEQUILLA'S TOP TIPS

One of our GFC Gems previews the weekend's League One fixtures

With Sky Bet being the new official sponsor of the Football League, the GFC Gems, one by one, are going to pick our `tips of the day` for each and every weekend fixture programme.

Sky Bet are offering a free £10 bet if you register via skybet.com/gillingham for the month of October, so here is your chance to have a flutter and make some money!

This week Tequilla has taken the responsibility to be the first to register a betting preview, and below she guides us through the games in League One.

Firstly we're up against Shrewsbury Town this weekend at Greenhous Meadow, and here are a couple of tempting special markets.

With Danny Hollands having scored the winner against MK Dons, he is 95/1 to score first in a 2-1 Gills win.

Skipper Adam Barrett netted in our last away match at Crewe, and if you fancy an outside shot he is 25/1 to open the scoring.

Tequilla's Special Bet - Charlie Lee to score first in our second successive 3-2 away win - 300/1!

Charlie has been eager to get on the score sheet in the last couple of games and surely, sooner or later, it's got to happen.

Colchester v Walsall

Looking at the table this looks a difficult one to call, but considering Walsall's strong form on the road and the fact Colchester have only won once at home this season, I fancy the Saddlers to get all three points.

Walsall to win - 13/10

Leyton Orient v MK Dons

After Orient's incredible start they have `slipped up` slightly having drawn their last two games, and with MK Dons looking to bounce back after losing here on Saturday, I'm going for a point each!

Draw - 23/10

Port Vale v Peterborough

Vale, having come up with the Gills from League Two last season, have started life in a new division very well and are sitting comfortably in mid-table.

Darren Ferguson's side have yet to taste defeat on the road, and with momentum on their side, I'm going for a very close away win.

Peterborough Win - Evens

Preston v Crewe

Crewe are sadly going through a torrid time at the moment and, having looked at their previous results, have shipped 17 goals in their last six games.

Bearing that in mind I can't see any other result than a home win with Preston sitting pretty in the play-offs.

Preston Win - 1/2

Rotherham v Swindon

I struggled to predict a result for this one as both are capable of victory and there are match winners in both squads.

Both are in the top half, but with Rotherham looking good at home and Swindon yet to record three points away from the County Ground, I'll go for the hosts to take the win.

Rotherham Win - 7/5

Stevenage v Brentford

The home side go in to the game second bottom of Sky Bet League One, and although they will be looking for a positive result, Brentford will be eager to climb the table and fulfil their pre-season expectations of promotion contenders.

I remember earlier in the season Uwe Rosler's team grabbed a late equalizer to snatch a point, but I think on this occasion they will go one better and claim all three.

Brentford Win - 10/11

Six Fold Accumulator - 103/1

Good Luck! One of the other girls is already preparing for next week - the competition between us is well and truly on!
