On loan Gills defender believes home form is vital in securing league safety sooner rather than later
Gillingham defender Michael Harriman has been pleased by the Gills performances at MEMS Priestfield Stadium since the New Year, but believes this has to be maintained to ensure League One safety.
Peter Taylor’s side have been beaten only twice at home in 2014, and Harriman is now hoping the team get the required amount of points as soon as possible to avoid incurring pressure in the last few games.
Speaking to the club website he said: “We have been very good away but since the turn of the year we have been even better at home. Not many teams have come here and beat us.
“We just need to keep it up for the last few matches and the aim now is to keep picking up points to see how high we can finish.
“We are not mathematically safe yet, so we can’t take our foot of the gas until we know we are there. We are going to play each game as it comes and hopefully pick up the points.
“The rest has done us good and we are raring to go. I think the boys are just ready to get back out on the pitch and win some games.”
