Nearly 2,000 Gills fans will make the short trip to Roots Hall on Saturday

Nearly 2,000 Gillingham fans will cheer on Justin Edinburgh’s team during Saturday’s important Sky Bet League One fixture at Southend United.

Gills supporters will fill the entire North Stand at Roots Hall for the tie, and a brilliant atmosphere is now guaranteed for this crucial game in the club’s promotion push.

Having sold out an initial allocation of 1,400 on Monday, the club received an additional 600 tickets from the Essex club. Less than 100 remained upon this afternoon’s 2pm off-sale time.

The figure is the Gills’ highest away following of this season thus far, eclipsing the 1, 607 who watched the 3-0 win at Millwall in December.

Supporters are advised that no tickets are available for purchase at Roots Halls tomorrow. However, the Gills' Club Class Travel with Kings Ferry Coaches is available for the game, with the following pick-ups:

- Sittingbourne Railway Station 11.15am

- Cricketers Pub, Rainham 11.30am
- MEMS Priestfield Stadium 12.00pm
- Coach And Horses Pub, Strood 12.10pm

Prices for the service cost £17 for adults (ages 16 and over), and £14 for juniors. To book, contact Trevor and Julie Loveridge on (01634) 301899 before 10pm, or the club directly on (01634) 300000, selecting option one.

Supporters should be aware that there are engineering works between Shenfield and all Southend railway stations on Saturday, and are advised to allow more time for their journey if travelling in this way.
