GIRLS CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE
Congratulations to keeper, Katie Startup and her England Teammates who have progressed from the group stages in impressive fashion with three wins out of three, setting up a semi-final against Germany in the Women U17 UEFA Finals this evening.
Last Saturday our U17s had a training game against players from our Girls Academy and Ladies team. It was a great opportunity for the players to impress 1st Team Manager, Jack Wheeler as they continue their progress in to the adult game. All the players put in impressive displays against tough opposition and the coaching staff are very excited by the talent coming through from the Centre and we are looking forward to seeing it continue, well done girls.
Trials for our Regional Talent Club (formally Girls Centre of Excellence) will be taking place this June and for all the details please click here.
FEMALE FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT
Our FFD Programme continues this term and we have welcomed two new schools to the programme, Ifield School in Gravesend and Northfleet School for Girls. So far this academic year we have seen over 250 girls who had never played football before or had stopped playing. It’s also been fantastic to see a number of girls who have progressed in to their schools teams when we attended the West Kent Girls Cup last week.
In our third year sponsoring the Cup we were very excited to see who would win the U13s GFC Community Trust Shield and U15s GFC Community Trust Cup. Female Football Development Coach, Georgia Bowie was in attendance and cheered on the finalists.
Congratulations to all those involved in another excellent competition and of course to the eventual winners and to find out who they were please click here.
