Permanent deal agreed as Parker joins Charlto

Josh Parker has signed for Charlton Athletic on a six-month contract.

The 28-year-old first arrived at Priestfield in early 2017 and scored on his debut against Port Vale at Priestfield before going on to make 15 further appearances. His performances resulted in him being offered a two-year deal by then boss Ady Pennock.

Last season he scored 12 goals in 49 appearances, two of those coming in a 3-1 victory against Rotherham United at the New York Stadium on October 28, 2017. He also scored at The Valley on New Year’s Day 2018 as Gills recorded their first ever win at Charlton.

Josh, formerly of Red Star Belgrade, has signed in time to be eligible for selection ahead of Charlton’s game against Fleetwood at Highbury on Saturday.

Manager Steve Lovell said: “I’d like to wish Josh all the best for his future career. He has been an excellent professional and we wish him every success at Charlton.”
