Hodson joins St. Mirren on loan

Gills full-back returns to SPL on loan deal.

Lee Hodson has signed for Scottish Premiership side St. Mirren on loan until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old full-back joined the Gills in the summer following his departure from Glasgow Rangers and, to date so far this campaign, has made 12 appearances in all competitions.

He re-joins St. Mirren having had a previous spell on loan during the 2018/19 campaign, where he made 21 appearances before returning to Ibrox.

Lee made his professional debut for Watford in 2009 before enjoying spells at Brentford, MK Dons and Kilmarnock.

Manager Steve Evans said: “Lee is a top class lad and, as important, a very good player.

"However Barry Fuller has been very good and we have several players who can play in that position if needed.

"In fairness Lee wants to play football and I presented him with three SPL options and two in League 1 and out of those he has chosen St.Mirren, an excellent club with a brilliant dedicated support base. He did very well there previously so we all wish him success, one lad who deserves it."
