Midfielder arrives at ME7.
Neil Harris has made his first signing as Gills manager with the capture of former Millwall midfielder, Ben Thompson.
The 26-year-old had his contract at the New Den mutually terminated on transfer deadline day prior to agreeing a deal at MEMS Priestfield Stadium until the end of the season.
Thompson came through the youth system with the Lions and made his professional debut in an EFL Cup tie against Southampton in August 2014. In total he has made 174 appearances for the club, scoring 12 times.
He was part of the Millwall squad, under Harris, that won promotion via the League One play-offs in 2017.
He spent a short time out on loan during the 2018-19 season, scoring three times in 27 outings for Portsmouth.
Speaking to the club website he said: "I'm over the moon; obviously with Neil coming in as manager it was a no brainer in the end. I am buzzing to be here.
"I jumped at the opportunity and hopefully we can have some good times at the club. Hopefully I can add some goals, I'm raring to go and it's a challenge to get out of the bottom four and get up the league."
An interview with Ben will be available on iFollow shortly. He is unavailable for selection ahead of Tuesday's visit of Crewe.
