Striker agrees terms on first pro deal.
The club is delighted to announce that Joe Gbode has signed his first professional contract with the Gills.
Gbode, 17, joined as an U15 and has developed extremely well, making his debut as a second half substitute in an FA Cup second round replay against Cheltenham Town in November 2021.
He has since made eight further first-team appearances, starting for the first time against Crawley at Broadfield Stadium in November last year, keeping his place for the game at Dagenham & Redbridge in the FA Cup.
He was the top scorer for the youth team last season and has been a regular in the first-team squad this term. He has enjoyed productive loan spells at both Hastings and Margate earlier in the campaign and recently played in the club's Kent Senior Cup tie at Tonbridge Angels.
