The Gillingham FC Foundation is delighted to announce a partnership with New Line Learning Academy in Maidstone.
New Line Learning Academy offers a supportive and positive environment that encourages all students to Believe and Achieve, and the Foundation will be specifically supporting the Personal Development Pathway Programme that offers pupils the opportunity to take part in enrichment activities to support their personal development and growth.
The GFC Foundation will be delivering an Academy coaching programme throughout the Academic year, as well a range of workshops highlighting the many career opportunities within professional football beyond the player pathway.
Mark Abrahams (GFC Community Director) commented: “From the initial discussions there was a natural alignment with the programme’s ambitions. They’ll be pupils who have a passion for football and sport but may not be aware of the range of career pathways that Professional football can offer behind the scenes of Clubs across the Country. We want to encourage tomorrow’s workforce to be aware of those opportunities and understand what that pathway looks like.”
Paul Cooper (Head of PE & Assistant Headteacher) said: "From our first meeting, it was clear that our visions aligned, with pupils being at the centre of everything we do. It’s an exciting new partnership for us to be part of. We’re looking forward to expanding our pathway programme for students and are excited by the opportunities that the Gillingham FC Foundation will be able our pupils including links to careers, work experience as well as professional coaching for our students.’
As well as the weekly curriculum programme, pupils will have the opportunity to take part in unique experiences that include playing at MEMS Priestfield Stadium, Q&A sessions with players and staff and attending matchday’s throughout the season.
