Crawley Town v Gillingham

Sky Bet League Two

Broadfield Stadium

Saturday March 28, 2026

Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

Armani Little will miss Saturday's due to suspension having been sent off in the closing stages of the Bristol Rovers fixture. Gareth Ainsworth is hoping that one or two players could return to the matchday squad. Seb Palmer-Houlden will be pushing to start, having come off the bench against Rovers.

Robbie McKenzie could make the squad as he recovers from injury.

Andy Smith is a doubt, having come off with a knock in the defeat last Saturday.

Crawley will be without Jonny Russell, who is away on international duty representing Northern Ireland under-21s. Former Gill Scott Malone could be in line to start for Crawley, and Jacob Chapman should retain his place in goal.

Manager Comments:

Colin Kazim-Richards: “Football’s about margins. Football's about details and small wins, so I don't want to give out anything in terms of that.

“But people just have to know, just look forward to Saturday. I hope to see many people here.

“I know it's a tough time – believe me, I know – but hopefully you're going to see a team that's going to give everything.”

Gareth Ainsworth: “It is totally about us. We can’t guess things, and we can’t speculate and think about what he might do. Good luck to him. It’s a tough job, football management, in the first job. We will see what Mr Richards does. He is a good guy and has had a good career, and obviously, he has been involved in coaching for a few years.

“Hopefully, we will share a few words after the game, but I am hoping for a Gillingham victory on Saturday.”

Previous Meetings:

The two teams have met on 17 occasions, with the Gills leading the head-to-head with nine wins to Crawley’s four. The fixture has also seen four draws.

Our last trip to Crawley came in August 2023, where Gillingham made it four successive 1-0 victories to begin the league campaign. Things could have turned out differently when Crawley were awarded a penalty after 15 minutes when Cheye Alexander handled inside the penalty area. However, Jake Turner guessed the correct way, saving Dom Telford’s attempt before saving the rebound.

The game's defining moment came shortly before half-time. Shad Ogie’s long throw was played back out to him, and the defender made a bursting run into the Crawley penalty area. He drilled a low ball into the six-yard box, which Harry Ransom slid into his own net.
