Gillingham v Port Vale
Sky Bet League Two
MEMS Priestfield Stadium
Tuesday October 20, 2026
Kick-Off, 8pm
Team News:
Gareth Ainsworth hinted at changes being made to the starting XI following the defeat against Accrington Stanley. Zane Albarus, Will Goodwin and Conor McManus could all be in contention to feature. Jack Daley, Tom Eaves, Bradley Dack, Garath McCleary and Ethan Coleman will all be pushing to start the fixture after coming off the bench at the weekend.
Port Vale could name an unchanged line-up again, following their 1-0 win over Chesterfield on Saturday. Former Gillingham captain Kyle Dempsey is in line to make his return to ME7.
Manager Comments:
Gareth Ainsworth: “We have been good at home, and I am sure that the place will be packed. It's a Tuesday night under the lights and on TV. It is a great opportunity for the boys to put everything right, but they have some tough people.
“I just told the boys that places are up for grabs. Let's see what we can do.”
Previous Meetings:
Port Vale last visited the MEMS Priestfield Stadium in November 2024, with the Gills narrowly coming out on top.
The game’s deciding moment came with a little over ten minutes remaining. Quick thinking from a throw allowed Conor Masterson to get to the right byline, where he floated a cross into the box. Jayden Clarke got across his marker and cushioned a header into the right corner of the net.
