Fabio Borini will likely be involved, having made his Salford debut in their win against Oldham Athletic last Saturday. Nicolas Siri could be involved in the matchday squad after missing the previous two league fixtures. Daniel Udoh should keep his place leading the Salford attack after scoring the winning goal against Oldham.

Manager Comments:

Richard Dobson: “I don’t expect them to be coming here and putting a block on at the weekend. I think that it’s going to be a more open game. They will try and attack us, and we will try and attack them. I think that it will be an interesting game for the fans."

Karl Robinson: “We know how hard it is there, not just the surroundings and the quality of the team, but the travelling to get down there. And a note for the fans who are travelling, it is almost like a thank you before you go. We know how hard it is, we know how far away it is, so we appreciate everybody who does go down there.

"But we are looking forward to it and we cannot wait for the game. We know how good the opposition are, and we have worked very hard this week.”

Previous Meetings:

Gillingham leads the head-to-head with four victories to Salford’s one. There has also been one draw between the clubs. Salford won the first-ever meeting in December 2022, winning 3-0 at the MEMS Priestfield Stadium.

Gills beat The Ammies in ME7 the following year thanks to an impressive second-half display. Connor Mahoney opened the scoring midway through the first-half before Matt Smith levelled the game with a header that found the bottom corner.

Tom Nichols restored Gillingham’s advantage nine minutes into the second period when he guided Jonny Williams’ cross into the far corner of the net. Dom Jefferies made it 3-1 just after the hour when he rose the highest at the back post to nod Cheye Alexander’s cross into the goal at the near post.
