Sky Bet League Two

MEMS Priestfield Stadium

Tuesday March 17, 2026

Kick-Off, 7.45pm

Team News:

Omar Beckles, Garath McCleary, Bradley Dack and Armani Little will be in contention to start Tuesday’s game, having come off the bench in the defeat at Cambridge. Harry Waldock, who made his first league start, could also be involved.

Ethan Coleman suffered an injury against MK Dons and is unlikely to feature. Tuesday night will come too soon for Conor Masterson, but Josh Andrews will be available for selection, having served his two-match suspension.

Ryan Tafazolli could start for Swindon on Tuesday, having returned to their starting XI against MK Dons following an injury. Ollie Clarke, who was brought off in The Robins’ draw against Crawley, started and scored on Saturday, so is likely to be involved on Tuesday.

Former Gills Tom Nichols, Will Wright and Darren Oldaker all started for Swindon against MK Dons, and will be hoping to start against their former club.

Manager Comments:

Gareth Ainsworth: “We need to create chances on Tuesday against Swindon, and we need to be better at defending set pieces, second balls, and balls forward that just seem to carve through us at times. It is my job to put it right.”

Ian Holloway: “I played a much more experienced team today, and I am going to have to keep doing that, I think, because you want the experience to be out there, and you want the young ones to come on and be fresh.

“We just need to get a result like we did against Barnet. We need to get another one, and we need to get one really quickly, so let’s go to Gillingham and see what we can do.”

Previous Meetings:

Tuesday night’s game will be the 151st meeting between the two teams. Swindon narrowly leads the head-to-head with 55 wins to Gillingham’s 53. The fixture has also seen 42 draws.

Gills beat Swindon 2-0 at the MEMS Priestfield Stadium in January 2014, thanks to a goal in either half. Leon Legge opened the scoring on 18 minutes. Joe Martin lofted a free-kick into the box, and Legge got across his marker to reach the ball and sent a header into the bottom left corner.

Michael Harriman put the game to bed with seven minutes remaining. Martin made a run into the space on the left side of the penalty area and received the ball. He cut it back from the byline to the edge of the six-yard box, and Harriman did enough to squeeze his shot beyond three Swindon defenders on the line.
