Team News:

Ethan Coleman, Bradley Dack, Cameron Antwi and Will Goodwin will all be in contention to be involved in the matchday squad, having featured in the midweek defeat to Cambridge United. Zane Albarus and Armani Little could be involved, but will be assessed until the final moments.

Conor McManus is unavailable for selection, having been called up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad.

York will be without Zech Medley, who will miss the fixture due to a hamstring problem. Jack Hunt will return to training on Friday and will be assessed ahead of Saturday’s game, while Frankie Maguire will be available for selection.

Manager Comments:

Scott Lindsey - “They play a very similar system to us actually, with a back three and try to pass it. They play into the pivots and play into the wing-backs. They make passes around the back and try to be patient with their build, but they are very aggressive at the moment where they want to go forward, so we have to be ready for that.”

Gareth Ainsworth - “I think that York are going to be big contenders this year, so we are going to have to be on it, definitely. We have got a long trip up there, we know that. We have travelled well so far this season. We are on the back of some good league form, but the Cambridge game in midweek was a little bit of a back down to earth.”

The two clubs have met on 38 occasions, with the most common result being a draw, occurring 15 times. Gillingham have won 12 times in the fixture, with York City winning 11.

Our last visit to York came in February 2013, as Martin Allen’s title winners played out a goalless draw. Cody McDonald had a good chance, but could only loop his header into the waiting arms of Michael Ingham.

The closest either side came to breaking the deadlock was through Charlie Lee. The midfielder controlled a high-looping clearance with his chest before thumping a volley from 30 yards goalward. The strike had Ingham beat, but smacked the crossbar before bouncing away.
